The AI Human-Training Center (2020)

Picture

Welcome to The AI Human-Training Center. We are here to prepare humans to face AI recognition algorithms. Our mission is to remind you that when confronted with this technology you are not powerless! You are not without agency! Join one of our training workshops and familiarize yourself with the way AI algorithms see you. You will get to see real time results of an AI analysis of your face. You will also learn some tricks which will allow you to  transform your own visibility and manipulate the way these algorithms see you!

The AI Human-Training Center is a participatory performance taking place in an online ZOOM conference meeting. The fictional center aims to remind people of their own agency to act upon AI facial recognition algorithms. Participants are invited to join a meeting room at a designated time and day. During the meeting a digital assistant bot guides them through a workshop in which they are able to see a real-time AI analysis of their own face and learn some basic performative gestures which will change their AI visibility.
