Mind Gate (2023)

Picture
Mind Gate is a participatory and interactive performance that invites audience members to wear a commercially available EEG (electroencephalogram) device that is artistically tied to a generative AI system. The device determines the user's relaxation levels. This information is fed into the AI system, that generate images based on these various states of mind. Participants are encouraged to spend time with a BCI-AI system, attempt to alter their relaxation levels and control the style of the generated images. Acknowledging these new cyborgian skills, the piece opens a discussion regarding our future with BCI-AI systems.
